One the Verge of “Senior Year Part 2”

January 5, 1997 Sunday

Hoke and I worked at the Hub last night.  I brought the gifts for Ainsley and Holly Andrews, in case they showed up (well, in truth, the huge box remains in the next seat of Hoke’s Thunderbird).  No luck.  The whole thing seems stranger and stranger.  It’s nothing like how it was just a few months ago, which brought energy and excitement.  And I don’t know the next time I will see them.  Dang…  Mrs. Crumrine, the bartender Hoke works with, is also engaged to some guy.  It shocked all of us.  I thought she would (by choice) stay single forever.

I was over at Hoke’s today, playing his new Nintendo 64.  It’s really great.  We also watched the Carolina Panthers beat the Dallas Cowboys to move onto the NFC Championship Game.

Tomorrow we start school again.  I guess that’s a good thing.  It will be good to get back and see everyone.  I’m pretty sure it will be a “B” day tomorrow, but I’m praying it’s not.  Trig is not the way to get back into the groove of things.  Oh, and I got a package notice than my CDs from Columbia House are in, so I’ll have some new music soon.

Perhaps I have said this line too much in these last few entries, but it’s really the only way to wrap up: I have had a good Christmas vacation on the whole . Some things went wrong, but most things were pretty good.  As I enter the last semester of high school, I hope it will be as fun and memorable as the first.
